Background

The Maa Trust is a non-profit organization working to empower Maasai communities in Kenya through sustainable development initiatives. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Accountant to join our team.

Responsibilities

The Accountant will be responsible for:

• Managing day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable.
• Preparing financial statements, reports, and budgets.
• Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and organizational policies.
• Assisting with audits and financial reviews.
• Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is an advantage.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience

Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the non-profit sector.
