Position: Accountant

Location: Nyeri

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Accountant to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial reporting, reconciliations, compliance processes, audits, and financial controls while supporting international operations and clients.

The ideal candidate should possess strong accounting knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and cross-functional environment. Experience supporting international clients, particularly within the U.S. market, will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial records, reports, and reconciliations
  • Conduct financial and operational audits to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations
  • Perform internal control testing and support enterprise risk management processes
  • Ensure compliance with accounting and regulatory standards, including IFRS, GAAP, and SOX
  • Monitor financial transactions and maintain accurate general ledger records
  • Identify financial risks and recommend corrective and mitigation measures
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
  • Prepare audit schedules, supporting documentation, and assist with external audit processes
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support business decision-making
  • Improve operational efficiency and strengthen internal financial controls
  • Maintain proper accounting documentation in line with compliance and audit requirements
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure alignment of financial processes and reporting
  • Stay updated on accounting standards, compliance regulations, and industry best practices
  • Perform additional accounting and finance-related duties as assigned

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards and compliance frameworks such as IFRS, GAAP, and SOX
  • Familiarity with risk management frameworks such as COSO or ISO 31000
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced and cross-time-zone environments
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience
  • Experience supporting international clients or operations, preferably within the U.S. market
  • Experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, audits, and compliance processes preferred
  • A professional accounting certification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is an added advantage
