ROLE OVERVIEW

Join our Finance Department as an Accounts Assistant, where you will support essential financial and accounting operations—ranging from daily bookkeeping to budget preparation and facilitating audits. This role is pivotal in maintaining financial integrity and supporting the smooth running of school operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process financial documents, including invoices, bills, and accounts payable/receivable entries.
  • Review and proofread requisitions from departments for accuracy and completeness.
  • Compile and submit regular financial reports to the Head of Accounts.
  • Verify bank deposits and assist with bank reconciliations.
  • Enter financial data into accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or Sage).
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and assistance.
  • Post daily financial transactions and record office expenditures, ensuring adherence to budget policies.
  • Assist in preparing budgets and managerial reports, collaborating with the Head of Accounts and Finance Administrator.

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, or related field.
  • Must have completed CPA Part 2 (or equivalent professional accounting qualification).
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Sage, or similar accounting software.
  • Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to solve problems creatively.
  • Competent computer skills and ability to present financial data clearly.
  • Organized, dependable, and able to work under tight deadlines.
  • Team-oriented with a proactive and supportive attitude.
