Background

Altura Talent Consulting is recruiting an Accounts Payable Officer for a leading FMCG client in Nairobi. This is a mid-career opportunity for a detail-driven finance professional capable of managing high-volume invoice processing, supplier reconciliations, and payment scheduling while maintaining strong controls and clean audit trails.

Key Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices, credit notes, and payment requests with proper approvals and documentation
• Perform supplier statement reconciliations and resolve invoice or payment variances promptly
• Prepare payment schedules and support weekly and monthly payment runs
• Maintain accurate accounts payable aging and support month-end closure
• Ensure compliance with tax requirements (WHT/VAT where applicable) and internal control procedures
• Coordinate with procurement and stores teams to confirm PO, GRN, and invoice matching

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field
• CPA Part II or ACCA Part II preferred
• 4–6 years’ experience in Accounts Payable (FMCG or manufacturing experience is a strong advantage)
• Strong Excel skills and working experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Sage, or QuickBooks)
