JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Account’s Assistant officer to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting audits, preparing payroll, managing supplier and customer accounts, and ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. This role requires excellent technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Experience in real estate or project accounting will be a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately post daily sales invoices into the system and update customer payment
- Reconcile all customer accounts in collaboration with the Customer Service
- Review supporting documents for supplier payments, process payments, and reconcile supplier accounts.
- Assist in performing monthly bank reconciliations and resolving
- Support internal and external audit processes by preparing relevant schedules and
- Assist in payroll preparation, sales commissions, directors’ and staff allowances in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain and regularly update the fixed asset
- Support debt collection processes and provide updates on outstanding
- Ensure proper filing and safeguarding of accounting records for easy
- Assist in Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts, including variance
- Prepare and file statutory returns including PAYE, VAT, NHIF, NSSF, and corporate taxes in line with set deadlines.
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of internal financial controls and standard operating procedures.
- Generate ad hoc financial and management reports as requested by
- Undertake any other related duties as may be assigned by the line manager from time to
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Professional Accountancy qualification CPA Part 2 is
- Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in accounting and
- Experience in project accounting and/or real estate industry will be an added
Skills and Personal Attributes
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and computerized accounting
- Proficiency in MS Office and accounting sage
- High level of integrity, honesty, and
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving
- Strong time management and organizational
- Attention to detail with a high level of
- Ability to work independently with minimal
- Effective communication and interpersonal
