Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Agri-Climate Business Development Officer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and expanding our agricultural and climate-focused financial services portfolio. Key duties include:

• Identifying, designing, and promoting innovative agri-climate financial products tailored to smallholder farmers and agricultural SMEs.
• Building and maintaining strategic partnerships with stakeholders in agriculture, climate action, value chains, and development organizations.
• Conducting market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities and client needs in the agri-finance and climate adaptation/mitigation sectors.
• Developing business plans and driving the growth of the agri-climate loan portfolio in alignment with organizational targets.
• Providing technical support and training to staff and clients on climate-smart agricultural practices and financial products.
• Preparing reports, monitoring performance metrics, and ensuring compliance with organizational and donor requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or related field.
• At least 3–5 years of experience in business development, agricultural finance, climate-related projects, or rural development.
• Strong understanding of climate-smart agriculture, value chain financing, and rural financial markets.
• Excellent communication, networking, and proposal-writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
