JOB PURPOSE:
This individual will support in the planning, coordination, and implementation of sustainable agricultural and environmental initiatives, while working closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective execution, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement of agricultural development programs and activities.
Responsibilities or duties
- Support the assessment of environmental, geo-pedological, and agricultural conditions to inform the development of vegetable oil and bio-feedstock production initiatives.
- Conduct/support analysis of local agricultural contexts, rural production systems, and opportunities relevant to bio-feedstock development.
- Support the identification, design, and implementation of appropriate intervention models for vertically integrated bio-feedstock value chains.
- Support agriculture-related company initiatives, including environmental awareness, communications, local content, and community development programmes.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with local communities and other relevant stakeholders.
- Provide general management and administrative support as required, including other duties assigned from time to time.
Qualifications or requirements
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & CAREER EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Natural Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years’ relevant experience in agricultural, agroforestry, environmental, or related projects.
- Proven experience in agricultural/agroforestry development, supply chain analysis, and assessment of agricultural biomass production potential, including for industrial use.
- Demonstrated ability to design and manage large-scale agricultural or agroforestry interventions.
- Sound knowledge of agricultural and agroforestry production systems, including contract farming and agro-industrial initiatives.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, teamwork, stakeholder engagement, and coordination skills.
- Established network of relevant industry, agricultural, and community stakeholders.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
