Kibabii University is a public university in Kenya located in Bungoma County along Bungoma-Chwele highway.

Responsibilities or duties

This is the entry grade into this cadre. Work at this level will be carried out under close supervision and guidance of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will entail:-

• Carrying out mechanical, plumbing, electrical, masonry, carpentry, tailoring and building works;
• Perform basic repair and maintenance of facilities;
• Making and maintaining woodworks in buildings and other structures;
• Making and repairing furniture;
• Carrying out routine checks for repairs and maintenance of water and drainage system;
• Supervising repairing and maintaining water supply systems;
• Monitoring and regulating usage of water;
• Carrying out routine checks for repairs and maintenance of electrical equipment;
• Making requisitions for materials;
• Installing, maintaining and operating electrical equipment;
• Repairing and maintaining electrical works;
• Testing electrical equipment for proper operation;
• Observing safety measures; and
• Interpreting drawings.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: -

• Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Construction, Water from a institution; recognized
• National Trade Test III certificate in the area of specialization from National Industrial Training Authority or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; and
• Proficiency in computer applications.

Work Hours: 8

Experience in Months: 12

Level of Education: associate degree
