Kibabii University is a public university in Kenya located in Bungoma County along Bungoma-Chwele highway.
Responsibilities or duties
This is the entry grade into this cadre. Work at this level will be carried out under close supervision and guidance of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will entail:-
- Carrying out mechanical, plumbing, electrical, masonry, carpentry, tailoring and building works;
- Perform basic repair and maintenance of facilities;
- Making and maintaining woodworks in buildings and other structures;
- Making and repairing furniture;
- Carrying out routine checks for repairs and maintenance of water and drainage system;
- Supervising repairing and maintaining water supply systems;
- Monitoring and regulating usage of water;
- Carrying out routine checks for repairs and maintenance of electrical equipment;
- Making requisitions for materials;
- Installing, maintaining and operating electrical equipment;
- Repairing and maintaining electrical works;
- Testing electrical equipment for proper operation;
- Observing safety measures; and
- Interpreting drawings.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: -
- Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Construction, Water from a institution; recognized
- National Trade Test III certificate in the area of specialization from National Industrial Training Authority or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; and
- Proficiency in computer applications.
