Equity Afia is a subsidiary of Equity Group Holdings PLC, committed to providing accessible and affordable healthcare services across Kenya. We are expanding our team and seeking a dedicated Assistant Accountant to join our Utawala branch.

Responsibilities

The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ledgers.
  • Processing accounts payable and receivable.
  • Reconciling bank statements and general ledger accounts.
  • Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
  • Supporting the finance team with ad-hoc tasks and projects.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as CPA or ACCA is an added advantage.
  • Proven experience as an Assistant Accountant or in a similar role (minimum 2 years).
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and MS Excel.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • At least two (2) years of relevant working experience

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based at our Utawala branch in Nairobi. You will be part of a dynamic and supportive team dedicated to improving healthcare access.
