The National Gender and Equality Commission (NGEC) is a constitutional commission established under Article 59 of the Constitution of Kenya. Its mandate is to promote gender equality and the protection of the rights of women, men, youth, persons with disabilities, the elderly, and other marginalized groups.

Responsibilities or duties

The Assistant Director, HRM and Administration will be responsible for overseeing the Human Resource Management and Administration functions of the Commission. This includes developing and implementing HR policies, managing staff recruitment and retention, overseeing staff training and development, managing payroll and benefits, and ensuring efficient administrative operations.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in Human Resource Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is also required. Professional qualifications in Human Resource Management (e.g., CHRP) will be an added advantage. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential. Knowledge of Kenyan labor laws and public service regulations is required.

Experience needed

A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience in Human Resource Management and Administration, with at least three (3) years in a senior management position. Experience in the public sector or a similar organizational setting is desirable.
