Responsibilities or duties
Coordinating the training of functional assessment officers and teaching of functional assessment subjects
Foster a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices and good citizenship within the Division
Lead in the implementation of quality management system and risk management strategies with regard to sound financial management system within the Division
Coordinating the assessment of children with special needs and disabilities
Referring children assessed to service provision points
Guide on the placement of children with special needs and disabilities in educational programmes
Initiate functional assessment training for assessment staff
Monitor Identification and placement of children with special needs and disabilities in schools and institutions
Coordinate awareness creation, sensitize and capacity-build teachers, parents and other stakeholders dealing with children with special needs and disabilities
Coordinating community outreach services to create sensitization awareness on disabilities
Spearhead the development, implementation, monitoring, and review of a robust performance management system within the Division by providing oversight of the delivery of the annual performance contract and the strategic plan
Qualifications or requirements
Cumulative service period of twelve (12) years’ relevant work experience, three (3) of which should be at the grade of Principal Assessor or in acomparable position;
Bachelors Degree in Education in the area of Special Needs or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
Masters Degree in Education in the area of Special Needs or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution or any other equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized Institution;
Membership to a relevant professional body in good standing
Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized Institution
