JOB DETAILS:
Job Requirements
i. Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: -Commerce, Business Administration, Agriculture, Economics, Sociology, Law, Agricultural Economics, Cooperative Management, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Management and Organizational Development, Finance or Agri-business from a recognized institution:
ii. Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: -Commerce, Business Administration, Agriculture, Economics, Sociology, Law, Agricultural Economics, Cooperative Management, Marketing, entrepreneurship, Management and Organizational Development, Finance or Agri-business from a recognized institution will be added advantage.
iii. Served in the grade of Principal Cooperative Officer for a minimum period of three (3) years.
iv. Certificate in Senior Management Course lasting not less than Four (4) weeks from a recognizes institution
v. Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution: -and
vi. Demonstrated administrative ability and a high degree of professional competence to work performance
vii. Certified Associate in Project Manager or equivalent.
viii. Registered Member of Kenya Association of Project Management
ix. Member of a relevant professional body.

Job Description
i. Providing technical advice in area of specialization
ii. Advising on cooperative investments
iii. Preparing reports for policy formulation
iv. Enforcing compliance with cooperative legislation
v. Designing, coordinating and monitoring the implementation of cooperative activities.
vi. Programmes and policies
vii. Carrying out market research and disseminating research findings
viii. Promoting value addition and processing
ix. Conducting cooperative banking inspections
x. Undertaking cooperative risk assessment
xi. Developing new financial products and credit policies.
xii. Promote existing investments and potential investment opportunities within the county through promotions and campaigns in order to create more awareness.
xiii. Provide Business Development Services for members of the county so as to enhance businesses within the county.
xiv. Promote Export of businesses and domesticating Inter-County, bilateral, Regional and International cooperation at the County level.
xv. Organize and conduct cooperative fairs/exhibitions and facilitating cooperative missions in and out of the County.
xvi. Conduct co-operative banking inspections in order to ensure the institutions comply with the regulations and legislation.
xvii. Undertake co-operative risk assessment in order to mitigate risks within the cooperative development in the county
xviii. Prepare and evaluate co-operative activities and trends to promote co-operative movement within the county.
xix. Conduct market research disseminate and analyze data collected for policy formulation for cooperative movements.
