Background
To ensure optimum utilization of machine capacities, utilities, and production systems by providing engineering support, maintenance oversight, and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
Key responsibilities of the successful candidate;
Maintenance & Equipment Management
- Plan and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of machinery and factory infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and automation faults to minimize downtime.
- Maintain updated maintenance records and equipment manuals.
- Ensure availability of critical spare parts and tools.
Production planning & support
- Collaborate with production teams to optimize equipment performance and production efficiency.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as machine uptime, efficiency, and energy usage.
- Recommend and implement process improvements and technological upgrades.
Project Management
- Lead installation, commissioning, and testing of new machinery or plant expansions.
- Prepare engineering drawings, layouts, and project documentation.
- Manage contractors and suppliers during engineering projects.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance
- Ensure all engineering operations comply with safety and environmental regulations.
- Participate in risk assessments and implement corrective actions.
- Train staff on safe equipment operation and maintenance practices.
Energy & Utility Management
- Monitor energy and utility consumption (electricity, water, steam, compressed air).
- Implement energy-saving measures and sustainability initiatives.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in production processes.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or Kaizen initiatives.
- Develop cost-reduction and reliability improvement programs.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or processing environment.
- Strong knowledge of factory quality systems such as ISO 9001
