Job Purpose

This position is responsible for the implementation of forestry projects and programmes in the Sub-county

Job Competencies (Knowledge, Experience and Attributes / Skills).

Academic qualifications

Diploma in Forestry, Urban forestry, Agroforestry & landscape Biodiversity, Natural Resources Management, Environmental Management, from a recognised institution.

Professional Qualifications / Membership to professional bodies

Certificate in computer application skills

Previous relevant work experience required.

Operational Responsibilities / Tasks

  • Promote collaboration in the implementation of forestry projects and Programmes in the Sub-county
  • Initiate capacity building and backstopping on community mobilization on tree growing
  • Collate and disseminate forestry management information in the Sub-county
  • Promote tree nursery establishment and management
  • Inspect/assess and scout for tree pests, diseases and tree that may need pruning or felling
  • Participate in field days, demonstrations, agricultural shows and exhibition
  • Prepare and implement performance contract, work plans and budgets.
  • Compile sectional periodic reports.
