Job Summary
This role works closely with the HR Manager to translate strategy into practical action, ensure full legal compliance, and support seamless resort operations through effective people management. Hospitality experience is a MUST, as the role demands real-time problem-solving, shift-based workforce management, and continuous engagement with both line managers and employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily HR operations, including attendance, shift rosters, overtime, and deployment of permanent, contract, and casual staff.
- Prepare and validate payroll inputs and HR data, working closely with Finance to ensure accuracy and cost control.
- Manage first-line employee relations, disciplinary and grievance processes, and escalate complex cases in line with labour law.
- Execute recruitment activities, support seasonal manpower planning, and ensure effective onboarding and workforce readiness.
- Coordinate performance appraisals, track KPIs, and support training and development initiatives.
- Promote hospitality service culture, employee engagement, professional conduct, and staff welfare initiatives.
- Support statutory compliance, maintain HR reports, manage contracts, and prepare documentation for audits and inspections.
Key Qualifications
- Registered member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM)
- Certified Human Resource Professional – Kenya (CHRP-K)
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years progressive experience in an HR leadership role, with mandatory experience in hospitality or resort operations.
- Strong working knowledge of Kenyan labour laws and hands-on experience managing employee relations in unionised or semi-unionised environments.
