Position Overview
Grade: GDC 4
Reference Number: GDC/HRM/FI/MA/AMMA/MGRM/01/2026
Job Purpose
The Assistant Manager – Management Accounting will support the financial planning and control cycle of GDC by preparing accurate budgets, monitoring cost centers, compiling variance reports, and performing strategic cost-benefit analyses.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the compilation and formulation of GDC's annual corporate and departmental budgets.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts and variance analysis reports.
- Conduct detailed product/service costing and cost-efficiency analyses on exploration and drilling activities.
- Establish and monitor key financial cost centers and cost-allocation methodologies.
- Assist in evaluating capital expenditure (CAPEX) business cases and project feasibility studies.
- Ensure integration of budget controls and management reports into the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
- Professional certification such as CPA-K or ACCA.
- Active registered member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).
- Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in management accounting, budgeting, or corporate finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Advanced experience working with ERP financial modules (SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics).
- Analytical mindset with strong data analysis and modeling capabilities.
