JOB DETAILS:
Assistant Registered Clinical Officer (Ophthamology)

Job Purpose
An officer at this level will be responsible to the Registered Clinical Officer in the provision of quality healthcare care services in the Hospital.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Providing clinical and family health care through history taking, examining,
• investigating, diagnosing, treating and managing diseases and conditions;
• Implementing Community Healthcare activities in liaison with other healthcare
• workers
• Carrying out minor surgical procedures and offering specialized clinical services
• including Ear, Nose and Throat / Audiology, Orthopaedics & Trauma, Child Health &
• Paediatrics, Reproductive Health, Ophthalmology, Anaesthesia, Lungs & Skin,
• Dermatology & Venereology;
• Sensitizing patients and clients on preventive and promotive health;
• Participating in ward rounds and implementing patients plan of care
• Documenting of patient data and utilization to benefit the customer and service
• provider;
• Participating in curriculum development, training and mentoring students.

Qualifications and Experience
• Higher National Diploma in Ophthalmology/ Low vision and refraction or its equivalent
• from a recognized institution.
• Diploma in Clinical Medicine & Surgery or Clinical Medicine & Community Health or
• equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Certificate of Registration from a relevant professional body.
• Proof of Completion of a one (1) year internship
• Valid practicing licence from the relevant registration body.
