Assistant Sales Manager (Sports & Team Kitting)
Job Summary
Our client is recruiting an experienced Assistant Sales Manager (Sports & Team Kitting) to support and grow sports-focused sales operations across Kenya for a business operating within the sports footwear, sports apparel, accessories, and sports equipment sector. The role is based in Nairobi and requires frequent travel across the country to engage with sports institutions and partners.
The position focuses on building collaborations with schools, sports academies, sports clubs, stadiums, and local and national sports teams, while generating bulk orders for customised sportswear and footwear solutions. The successful candidate supports sports partnerships, manages key accounts, and contributes to the growth of team kitting and institutional sports sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Sports Partnerships & Collaborations
Build and manage collaborations with schools, sports academies, sports clubs, sports stadiums, and local and national sports teams to support long-term partnerships.
- Team Kitting & Bulk Order Generation
Generate bulk orders for customised sportswear and footwear solutions tailored to team, academy, and institutional sports requirements.
- Key Account Management
Support and manage key sports-related accounts, ensuring consistent engagement, order fulfillment, and relationship growth.
- Client Engagement & Business Development
Identify and pursue new sports institutions and team kitting opportunities across Kenya to expand the client base.
- Product Customisation & Solution Selling
Work closely with clients to understand branding, design, and performance requirements for customised sportswear and footwear offerings.
- Sales Support & Target Achievement
Support sales planning and execution to achieve assigned sales targets within the sports and team kitting segment.
- Pan-Kenya Travel & Field Engagement
Travel across Kenya to visit sports institutions, attend sporting events, and support partnership discussions and negotiations.
- Sales Reporting & Account Tracking
Track sales activities, prepare reports, and maintain records related to sports partnerships, key accounts, and bulk orders.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in sports sales, team kitting, or sports partnerships.
- Proven experience working with schools, academies, sports clubs, or sports teams.
Experience and Skills
- Strong understanding of sportswear, footwear, and team kitting solutions.
- Ability to build and maintain partnerships within the sports ecosystem.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Experience handling bulk orders and customised product solutions.
- Strong relationship management and customer engagement capability.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively across Kenya.
