ASSISTANT TEACHER

Jaffery Academy is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to join our Junior School Team

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and delivering lessons.
  • Provide one-on-one or small-group support to learners who need additional assistance.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Prepare teaching materials, learning resources, and classroom displays.
  • Supervise learners during lessons, breaks, and school activities.
  • Support co-curricular programmes and school events.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, learners, and parents, where required.

Educational Requirements

  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a minimum mean grade of C (Plain).
  • Primary Teacher Education (PTE/PI) Certificate from KNEC, or a Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (DPTE) from an accredited institution, OR Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Primary Education from an accredited university.
  • Training or experience in Special Needs Education (SNE) or Learning Support.
  • Proficiency in ICT and digital learning tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to child safeguarding and the school's values.

Experience

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of classroom teaching experience in a primary or junior school setting.
  • Experience supporting differentiated learning or learners with additional needs will be an added advantage.
