Financial modelling & analysis

Develop and maintain economic and financial models to support solar electrification work to:

  • Estimate capital expenditures (capex) and operating expenses (opex) for solar electrification of health facilities. This includes analysing various technology types, fleet sizes, and approaches to operations & maintenance (O&M).
  • Estimate solar Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) prices under different scenarios (e.g., blended finance structures, contract duration, portfolio size)
  • Model costs and savings for governments under different electrification and contracting scenarios
  • Perform analysis to support project development and deal structuring of future blended finance transactions for health

Stakeholder engagement & implementation

  • Collaborate with industry stakeholders such as solar developers, EPCs, O&M contractors, equipment suppliers and private health providers to gather market data, pricing insights, and key trends.

  • Support the development of CHAI's private finance work, including scoping new opportunities, developing concept notes, and advising teams within CHAI on new opportunities to leverage private finance for health impact.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • 4-5+ years of experience in a fast-paced, analytical environment (e.g., management consulting, investment banking, infrastructure advisory, or development finance).
  • Demonstrated ownership of complex Excel-based modelling work, ideally with experience in financial modelling of project finance transactions.
  • Experience in impact investment, development finance or infrastructure is an advantage.
