The Graduate Trainee - Audit

The Graduate Trainee - Audit supports the Internal Audit team by assisting with financial data verification, reviewing financial and operational controls, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements under supervision.

• Assist in executing risk-based internal audits, working under the guidance of the Internal Auditor to learn audit methodology and professional standards.
• Support the conduct of financial, operational, and compliance audits by assisting in the evaluation of internal controls and regulatory compliance.
• Review basic financial records and transactions to help identify discrepancies or control weaknesses for further review by senior team members.
• Assist in audit planning by gathering data for risk assessments and helping prepare audit programs and documentation.
• Perform routine audit testing and gather evidence to support audit findings, ensuring work is done under supervision.
• Draft clear, well-organized working papers in accordance with internal audit standards for senior review.
• Support the preparation of draft audit reports and assist in drafting recommendations to improve controls.
• Participate in inventory counts and physical verification exercises to assist in safeguarding company assets.
• Collaborate with team members to facilitate audit activities and maintain accurate records of follow-up on audit recommendations.

• Must hold a bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA I is an added advantage.
• Audit experience, preferably in an FMCG or a similar dynamic industry.
• Excellent analytical, data interpretation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and willing to learn.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present findings clearly.
