Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer with a strong background in Manual Testing and practical exposure to test automation. The ideal candidate will primarily focus on manual functional testing, regression testing, defect management, and end-to-end system validation while utilizing and maintaining existing automation scripts and frameworks developed by automation teams.
This role is best suited for a quality-focused tester who understands automation concepts and tools but is not primarily focused on building automation frameworks from scratch.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute manual functional, regression, integration, smoke, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Design, prepare, and execute detailed test cases and test scenarios
- Identify, log, track, and retest defects using defect management tools
- Validate business and system requirements against delivered functionality
- Support end-to-end testing across multiple applications and integrations
- Execute and maintain existing automated test scripts developed by automation teams
- Analyze automation test execution results and report findings
- Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, project managers, and automation engineers
- Participate in test planning, test estimation, and test reporting activities
- Ensure quality standards and testing best practices are consistently followed
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in Software Quality Assurance and Testing
- Strong hands-on experience in Manual Testing methodologies and processes
- Experience in Functional Testing, Regression Testing, SIT, and UAT
- Practical exposure to automation tools such as Selenium, Katalon, Cypress, or similar
- Experience utilizing and maintaining existing automation suites/scripts
- Strong understanding of defect lifecycle management
- Experience using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, or similar
- Basic API testing knowledge using tools such as Postman
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
Preferred Experience
- Banking, Financial Services, FinTech, or Enterprise Systems experience
- Experience testing APIs, integrations, and web applications
- ISTQB certification is an added advantage
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum environments
