About the role

We're looking for an experienced B2B Business Development Manager to join our Bolt for Business (B4B) team in Nairobi. Kenya's corporate mobility market is growing fast — companies across tech, NGOs, financial services, manufacturing, and FMCG are increasingly seeking reliable, scalable transport solutions for their teams. You'll be at the centre of that opportunity.

You'll drive B4B's sales growth in Kenya — reaching out to businesses, meeting clients, pitching, negotiating, and closing deals with SMEs and mid-sized corporates. You'll have an in-depth understanding of the local business landscape: how Kenyan companies buy, who the decision-makers are, and how to navigate procurement in a relationship-driven market.

This role is a strong match if you have B2B sales experience in a fast-paced environment, a strong local network, and a genuine hunger to be part of a team responsible for growing Bolt's B4B footprint across Kenya.

Main tasks & responsibilities

About you

You have at least 4 years of experience in B2B sales in Kenya or the broader East Africa market, ideally selling business services or SaaS to SMEs, corporates, or mid-market accounts.

You're passionate about sales and consistently hit ambitious targets — results-driven, self-motivated, and competitive in the best sense.

You have a proven track record of sourcing and closing mid-market deals independently, and you're comfortable owning the full sales cycle from cold contact to signed contract.

You have a strong existing network in Nairobi's corporate ecosystem — operations, HR, admin, procurement, or C-suite contacts across sectors like Tech, NGOs, manufacturing, FMCG, or professional services are a major advantage.

You communicate clearly and persuasively in English and Swahili, and can adapt your style to boardroom presentations and WhatsApp follow-ups alike.

You're highly data-driven — you use CRM tools (preferably Salesforce) to manage your pipeline, track activity, and optimise your approach based on what the numbers tell you.

You take initiative and ownership. In a lean team, you don't wait to be told — you spot the opportunity and go after it.

Why you’ll love it here

Accelerate your professional growth with unique career opportunities.

Enjoy a rewarding salary and stock options, knowing that as Bolt succeeds, so do you.

Take care of your physical and mental health with our wellness perks.

Celebrate 5 years at Bolt with a 1-month paid sabbatical to recharge.

Connect with colleagues at annual company events and smaller team gatherings.

Balance flexibility and in-person collaboration with our hybrid model, including at least 12 monthly in-office days.

  • Managing the full sales funnel —generating and processing inbound leads, proactive prospecting (including cold outreach and warm introductions), closing deals, and maintaining a well-balanced pipeline with strong conversion rates to hit output goals.
  • Building and executing targeted outreach strategies to win mid-sized businesses across Nairobi and key Kenyan markets, including corporates, NGOs, financial institutions, and SME clusters such as tech hubs and industrial parks.
  • Achieving growth and hitting sales targets (with an uncapped commission scheme) by identifying high-potential accounts, understanding their employee mobility needs, and positioning Bolt for Business as the most compelling solution.
  • Developing deep, trust-based relationships with procurement, HR, admin, and finance stakeholders — recognising that Kenyan business culture values face-to-face engagement and long-term partnership.
  • Providing structured market feedback to the product and operations teams — helping shape how Bolt for Business evolves to meet the specific needs of Kenyan businesses.
  • B2B sales experience
  • Strong local network in Nairobi's corporate ecosystem
  • Excellent communication and persuasion skills in English and Swahili
  • Data-driven approach and proficiency in CRM tools (preferably Salesforce)
  • Initiative and ownership
