Founded in 2012, Two Max Group was built on a singular, contrarian premise: compliance is not an API integration. It is a rigorous legal discipline. We are the direct, legally registered Employer of Record protecting the world's most demanding enterprises in Kenya.
We're a US-based organization with a mission to help our clients thrive by providing quality healthcare and housing.
We're building the software that runs our operations - client-facing mobile experiences and the backend services behind them — and we're hiring our first dedicated backend developer in Kenya. You'll own real systems end to end, working directly with US leadership and alongside our remote team in Kenya and the Philippines.
What you'll do:
- Design, build, and operate backend services in Go (REST/gRPC APIs, background workers, integrations)
- Own the PostgreSQL layer: schema design, migrations, query performance, and data integrity for sensitive healthcare-adjacent data
- Ship to production: Docker-based deploys, CI, monitoring, and pragmatic incident response
- Collaborate with our Flutter front-end work (API contracts; Flutter experience is a welcome bonus, not a requirement)
- Use AI coding tools (Claude, Copilot) as accelerators, with engineering judgment and code review discipline on top
- Handle sensitive data responsibly — we operate to US healthcare privacy standards (HIPAA-aware development; we provide training)
What we're looking for:
- 3–5+ years backend development, including 1–2 years of production Go — OR strong production backend experience in another language plus substantial Go work we can see (link your GitHub)
- Real SQL depth: you can discuss indexing strategy, transactions, and migrations from experience, not tutorials
- Experience running something in production: deploys, logs, monitoring, and the humility that comes from being paged
- Clear written English — API docs, PR descriptions, and async updates are how this team works
- Bonus points: fintech/payments background, Flutter/Dart exposure, or healthcare data experience
