Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the U.S. government, allies, and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking a Barber to support a unique U.S. Navy program based on the remote island of Diego Garcia.

Responsibilities or duties

Provide professional grooming services including cutting, trimming, tapering, and styling hair using clippers, scissors, razors, and related tools.

Evaluate hair and scalp condition and recommend appropriate grooming techniques.

Perform shaving, beard and mustache trimming, scalp treatments, and other grooming services.

Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace in accordance with industry and Navy standards.

Recommend grooming products and support customer service needs.

Manage equipment, maintain tools, and support morale and welfare initiatives for personnel stationed on the island.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

High school diploma or equivalent.

Must possess a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.

Passport must be valid for at least one year beyond hire date.

Ability to meet and maintain contract medical requirements for the duration of deployment.

Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.

Experience needed

1–3 years of professional barbering experience.

Previous experience working in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce.

Excellent organizational, time management, and customer service skills.

Valid driver’s license

Ability to obtain country-specific visas in accordance with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
