Background
We are seeking a Basketball Academy Lead Coach to oversee U15 boys and girls teams. The coach will lead a performance-driven programme that develops elite technical skills, tactical awareness, strength & conditioning, and competitive readiness, integrated with academic support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and deliver a structured basketball curriculum aligned with age-based performance benchmarks.
- Conduct weekly training sessions, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Monitor athlete progress using analytics, video analysis, and termly performance reports.
- Prepare teams for regional, national, and international competitions.
- Foster a professional, disciplined academy culture emphasising teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship.
- Coordinate with academic tutors to ensure student-athletes meet academic targets.
- Collaborate with physiotherapists, nutritionists, psychologists, and sports scientists to support holistic athlete development.
- Maintain safeguarding, injury prevention, and compliance standards.
SUCCESS INDICATORS (KPI’S)
- Measurable skill improvement per term.
- Participation in ≥3 competitions per year.
- High retention with target enrolment of 22 students in Year 1.
- ≥90% of athletes meet academic benchmarks.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- FIBA Level 2 or equivalent recognised basketball coaching certification.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a structured basketball academy or competitive programme.
- Proven experience developing youth athletes for competitive pathways.
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Flexible to conduct early morning, evening, and weekend sessions.
