JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

GIDEONS MISSION HOSPITAL is a faith-based health institution owned and managed by the Catholic Diocese of Nakuru. It is located in Nakuru CBD along West Road, 200m from the State House Junction.

Our facility will be Offering evidence based consultative, comprehensive, preventive, Promotive, curative and all rounded healthcare under one roof and supported by Ultra-modern medical equipment, Outpatient Services, Inpatient Services, Maternity Services, Theatre, and HDU/ICU.

We are proud to announce the grand opening of our facility which is scheduled for late 2026.

Our Hospital is strategically situated for easy access by residents of Nakuru and surrounding areas. We will be available on all mapping platforms on the official launching date of the facility.

Biomedical Engineer – 6 Positions

Reference: GM/005
Salary: Ksh 30,000–39,000
Contract: Permanent

Job Summary

The Biomedical Engineer will ensure that medical equipment and related systems are safe, reliable, functional, and properly maintained to support effective healthcare delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, test, maintain, and repair medical equipment.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot equipment faults and coordinate repairs.
  • Maintain accurate equipment inventories and maintenance records.
  • Support commissioning and installation of new medical equipment.
  • Ensure equipment meets relevant safety and quality standards.
  • Train healthcare staff on appropriate equipment use.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and service providers when specialized repairs are required.
  • Monitor equipment performance and recommend replacements or upgrades.
  • Support hospital departments in identifying equipment needs.
  • Ensure biomedical equipment is available and safe for patient use.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
  • Registration with the relevant professional body where applicable.
  • Practical experience with medical equipment maintenance is an advantage.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Good knowledge of medical equipment safety and maintenance.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Comprehensive CV / Resume.
