About Bonn Climate Camp Bridge
The Bonn Climate Camp is a community space where civil society actors engaged in the SBs can receive logistical and other forms of support. It is also a gathering space to discuss the negotiations over dinner, strategize, and plan actions. BCC offers room for workshops, grassroots organizing, interactive sessions, and creative activities. Participants will explore various aspects of climate justice, from climate policy to Indigenous rights, from sustainable solutions to systemic injustices.
Benefits of Bonn Climate Camp Bridge
Participants selected through the Bonn Climate Camp Bridge (BCCB) will gain unique opportunities that extend beyond travel support, allowing them to fully engage with global climate discussions and strengthen their advocacy networks.
These benefits are designed to maximize both professional development and practical impact for civil society organizations from the Global South. Key advantages include:
- Full Travel and Accommodation Support – Selected participants receive coverage for flights, local transport, and accommodation, ensuring financial constraints do not limit participation.
- Priority Access to Climate Negotiation Spaces – Bridge participants gain enhanced opportunities to attend sessions, workshops, and side events at the UNFCCC Subsidiary Body meetings, offering direct exposure to international climate policymaking.
- Networking Opportunities – Connect with other global South activists, NGOs, and climate justice initiatives, fostering collaborations and long-term partnerships across borders.
- Capacity-Building Sessions – Access specialized training and workshops on climate advocacy, negotiation strategies, intersectional climate justice approaches, and public engagement.
- Visibility and Amplification – Participants’ voices and experiences are amplified through the camp’s communications channels, including social media, blogs, and public reports, giving their work international recognition.
- Mentorship and Guidance – Receive mentorship from experienced climate justice leaders and previous bridge alumni, supporting both immediate engagement at the camp and future advocacy initiatives.
These exclusive benefits ensure that participants not only attend the Bonn Climate Camp but leave with tangible skills, strengthened networks, and increased capacity to influence climate justice policies in their home regions.
