Role Context

The Bookkeeper will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations within the organization. This role will assist in the recording, processing, and reconciliation of financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies. The Bookkeeper will work closely with the finance team, providing support in maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and facilitating smooth financial processes while promoting a culture of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA Part II or equivalent accounting qualification is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in accounting or finance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience using ERP/accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Zoho, Sage etc.).
  • Record and maintain accurate financial transactions, including receipts, payments, and invoices.
  • Assist in preparation of weekly and monthly financial reports.
  • Manage billing and ensure accurate invoicing for services.
  • Support in cash flow tracking and petty cash management.
  • Assist in bank reconciliations and preparation of banking documentation.
  • Maintain proper filing of financial documents including receipts, vouchers, and supplier invoices.
  • Support procurement processes by verifying supplier invoices and payment requests.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly financial reports including Profit & Loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  • Assist in managing Accounts Payable and maintaining proper supplier reconciliations.
  • Assist in filing of VAT, PAYE, and other statutory deductions.
  • Maintain proper financial documentation and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Coordinate with auditors by preparing required documentation during reviews.
  • Any other duties as assigned by management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience using ERP/accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Zoho, Sage etc.).
