RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute hyper-localized brand strategies for Kenya. Lead market research to identify growth opportunities.
  • Manage cross-functional brand team, fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Mentor local talent to build a high-performing team.
  • Manage media relations with key Kenyan outlets and tech platforms.
  • Create locally resonant press releases and e-PR content (English/Swahili).
  • Handle crisis management, including product controversies and disputes.
  • Plan and execute events like product launches, briefings, and CSR initiatives.
  • Oversee end-to-end digital-first campaigns from ideation to ROI analysis.
  • Partner with sales teams to ensure brand activations drive market share.
  • Collaborate with HQ on global campaign localization for cultural relevance.
  • Build relationships with local media, agencies, and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years in brand management or PR, preferably in tech/FMCG with a Kenya/East Africa focus.
  • MBA in Marketing/Business.
  • Deep understanding of Kenya's marketing landscape, including consumer insight (media & content preference), resources in the industry (media, creative, digital).
  • Existing network with local agencies is a plus.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing multicultural teams. Experience in digital transformation or omni-channel marketing.
  • Crisis management skills (e.g., navigating competitive markets or PR challenges).
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to translate insights into strategies.
  • Creative storytelling and flawless English/Swahili communication skills.
