Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Coach to join our team in Mandera, Kenya. The Business Coach will be responsible for providing guidance, mentorship, and training to entrepreneurs and small business owners in the region. This role is crucial in supporting the growth and sustainability of local businesses, thereby contributing to community economic development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one coaching and mentorship to entrepreneurs and small business owners.
- Develop and deliver business development training programs on topics such as business planning, financial management, marketing, and sales.
- Assist entrepreneurs in developing viable business plans and strategies.
- Facilitate access to resources, including funding opportunities and market linkages.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of businesses and provide ongoing support.
- Organize and facilitate networking events and workshops for entrepreneurs.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Boma Projects' entrepreneurship programs.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Entrepreneurship, or a related field.
- Proven experience (at least 3 years) in business coaching, mentorship, or entrepreneurship development.
- Strong understanding of small business operations, financial management, and marketing principles.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Experience working in Mandera or similar arid/semi-arid regions is an added advantage.
- Fluency in English and Swahili is required. Knowledge of local dialects is a plus.
