Key Responsibilities:

  • Regional Business Development: Identify, develop, and pursue new business opportunities within the country for Cross Border Remittance and Banking as a Service (BaaS) solutions, aligning with Ecobank's strategic objectives.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Cultivate and manage strong relationships with key stakeholders across the country, including Fintech companies, mobile network operators (MNOs), payment gateways, banks, microfinance institutions, and other relevant partners. Negotiate and establish strategic alliances to expand Ecobank's reach and service offerings.
  • Sales & Revenue Growth: Lead the end-to-end sales cycle across the Country, from identifying prospects and presenting solutions to negotiating contracts and closing deals. Achieve and exceed assigned revenue targets for the region.
  • Tailored Solutions for Kenya: Collaborate with internal product and technical teams to understand the specific needs and regulatory environments.   Develop and promote customized Cross Border Remittance and BaaS solutions that address local market demands and leverage existing payment infrastructure (e.g., mobile money interoperability).
  • Market Intelligence: Maintain a deep understanding of the financial regulations, competitive landscape, and evolving customer needs within the Cross Border Remittance and Fintech sectors across the Country. Provide valuable market insights to inform strategic decision-making and identify emerging trends.
  • Pipeline Management & Reporting: Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline for the country using CRM tools, accurately forecasting and tracking progress against targets. Prepare and present regular reports on business development activities.
  • Regional Networking & Representation: Represent Ecobank at key industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities across the Country to build brand awareness, expand your professional network within the region, and identify potential partnerships.
  • Regional Strategy Contribution: Provide input and contribute to the development and execution of Ecobank’s overall Cross Border Remittance and Banking as a Service strategy. 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven track record (ideally 5+ years) of successful business development experience within the financial services or Fintech sector. 
  • Strong understanding of Cross Border Remittance solutions, Banking as a Service models, digital financial services, and the Fintech landscape within the Country, including familiarity with mobile money ecosystems, regional payment systems, and regulatory frameworks across member states.
  • Established network of contacts within the financial and technology ecosystem.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills in English. Proficiency in Swahili is a significant advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute effective business development strategies.  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset and the ability to navigate the complexities of the Country.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing opportunities across the Country.
  • Experience working effectively in a multicultural environment
