Key responsibilities

  • Implement and refine targeted recruitment and retention strategies to expand membership and diversify the organisation’s base. Regularly assess and enhance membership benefits to align with industry trends and member needs.
  • Collaborate with the Membership Lead to foster strong relationships with members, encouraging active participation in events and initiatives.
  • Identify and pursue strategic partnership opportunities, grants, and projects that generate new revenue streams for the organisation.
  • Create and execute comprehensive sponsorship strategies for events, research initiatives, and training programs to maximise funding opportunities.
  • Track and report on annual income targets, ensuring these are met in line with the organisation’s strategic objectives.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of organisational programs, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of services.
  • Analyse and optimise operational processes, systems, and infrastructure to enhance performance and cost efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain organisational policies related to governance, compliance, health & safety, and conduct, ensuring they meet current regulations and standards.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with vendors and partners, focusing on performance evaluation and ensuring value for investment.
  • Assess the financial implications of contracts and projects, providing strategic recommendations to the CEO for informed decision-making.
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of key events, including the Annual Conference, ensuring high standards of quality and engagement.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with event vendors, coordinating logistics to deliver successful and impactful events.
  • Direct the organisation’s training programs and policy advocacy initiatives, ensuring they are financially sustainable and aligned with member needs.

Professional Experience, Educational background and skills required

  • Degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, or related field.
  • 10+ years’ experience in operations and business development, with a minimum of 5 years in a management role.
  • Proven track record in income generation through sponsorships, memberships, or partnerships.
  • Excellent project management, organisational, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in scaling programmes and building strategic partnerships.
  • Commercial mindset with a focus on revenue growth and sustainability.
  • Strong systems orientation with consistent delivery of high standards.
  • Ability to innovate in a lean organisation and implement change.
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on execution capability.
  • Energetic, adaptable, and collaborative.
