ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client, a well-established player in the paint manufacturing industry, is looking to hire a seasoned Business Development Manager to drive business growth by delivering tailored decorative solutions, expanding the client base, and overseeing the successful execution of decorative service projects. The role combines client advisory, project coordination, and team leadership to ensure high-quality service delivery while maintaining strong customer relationships and market competitiveness. It requires close collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure projects meet design expectations, quality standards, and timelines. The ideal candidate should possess strong commercial acumen, a keen aesthetic sense, and the ability to manage multiple projects while building lasting client relationships in a dynamic and service-driven environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Engagement and Solution Delivery
- Provide personalized decorative solutions for interior and exterior spaces based on client needs, surroundings, and functional requirements.
- Advise clients on paint specifications, color schemes, special effects, and finishes to enhance aesthetic value.
- Respond promptly to client inquiries, offering color advice and technical tips.
Project Management and Quality Control
- Plan and manage projects to meet client timelines, ensuring deliverables align with design and quality expectations.
- Conduct site audits and inspections to monitor progress and compliance with safety, design specifications, and quality standards.
- Maintain detailed project records, including before-and-after images and supporting documentation.
Painter Management and Resource Coordination
- Assign qualified painters to projects based on requirements and SOPs.
- Ensure availability and timely delivery of paints, tools, and supplies.
- Train and guide painters on product use, customer handling, and safety procedures.
Team Supervision and Performance Management
- Lead, schedule, and supervise field staff to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Conduct performance evaluations per organizational policy.
- Foster effective communication and teamwork to maintain high morale and efficiency.
Business Development and Client Retention
- Build strong client relationships and ensure high satisfaction to generate repeat and referral business.
- Promote services in new and existing markets to expand the client base.
- Perform administrative duties related to agreements, contracts, and work orders.
Compliance and Continuous Improvement
- Ensure implementation and compliance with EHS, QMS, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote adherence to safety regulations, organizational policies, and industry best practices on all project sites.
QUALIFICATIONS
Academic Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Sales & Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 4–5 years’ experience in interior design, decorative services, construction finishes, or project-based sales.
- Experience in decorative paints, surface finishes, or interior solutions is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with basic project management tools.
Technical Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of paint systems, surface finishes, and decorative application techniques.
- Good understanding of color theory and aesthetic design principles.
- Ability to assess client needs and recommend suitable decorative solutions.
- Experience coordinating site projects, painters, and material requirements.
- Ability to conduct site inspections and ensure quality standards during project execution.
- Strong client relationship management and business development skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
