Background
Madison Group Limited is a locally owned financial services holding company that specializes in Insurance and wealth management services. The Group comprises of Madison Life Assurance Kenya Limited, Madison General Insurance Kenya Limited, and Madison Investment Managers Limited. Madison Life Assurance Kenya was originally incorporated under Kenyan Laws in 1988 as Madison Insurance Company Limited (MICK) after a successful merger between Crusader Plc (1974) and Kenya Commercial Insurance Corporation.
Responsibilities
- Alerting the Branch Managers, Regional Business Development Managers and Head of Branches Business Unit on the tender adverts from daily newspapers & online tenders.
- Liaising with finance department to purchase the tenders that we have market intelligence on after seeking approval from the Managing Director or Head of Branches.
- Purchase tenders for the branches upon request and confirmation by whoever is requesting to do a follow up and whether he/she has a strong lead of the requested tender.
- Compiling and working on both tender document and pre-qualification tenders for head office, branches, intermediaries under Branches Business Unit and making sure that they are submitted in time.
- Doing follow up on all the tenders we have purchased for the branches and intermediaries by making sure they submit their reports on tenders.
- Liaising with underwriters to do tender quotations for both direct tenders and those from intermediaries
- Booking tenders for intermediaries who have shown interest on particular tenders based on the market intelligence they have
- Preparing the authorization & forwarding letters for brokers who have requested for our quotation and submitting to the procuring entity together with the company’s supporting documents
- Compiling a report of all tenders we have participated in and those converted.
- Allocation of tenders purchased per cost center
- Arranging for tender bid bonds by liaising with finance department for the bank guarantees & counter indemnities for the insurance bonds
- Build and maintain good business relationships with Brokers and Independent Agents under the Branch Business Unit
- To solicit and procure on the Company’s behalf applications for insurance cover and to provide within the Region such after sales services in respect of the insurance contracts as may be required from time to time.
- Ensure maximum utilization and accountability of all available company resources
- Maintain a high level of Customer service both internally and externally
Skills and Competencies Required

- Time management skills
Knowledge & Experience
- At least 2 years of experience in Business Development preferably in tendering business.
Academic and Professional Qualifications required
- Bachelor’s Degree in business related field.
