Job Purpose
To drive business growth by identifying new market opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships, supporting sales initiatives, and implementing strategies to expand the company’s customer base and increase revenue. The Business Development Officer plays a key role in lead generation, proposal development, competitor analysis, and customer feedback integration to support strategic business goals.
Job Description
A. Market Research & Lead Generation
Conduct market research to identify new potential customers, markets, and trends.
Develop lead lists through networking, referrals, databases, and cold outreach.
Maintain a pipeline of qualified prospects using CRM or Excel tracking tools.
B. Sales Support & Proposal Development
Prepare and customize sales proposals, quotations, and tender documents.
Follow up on leads to ensure timely communication and feedback.
Support pre-sale engagement, including presentations and site visits.
Track conversion rates and follow up on open deals.
C. Relationship Management
Build strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
Conduct regular check-ins with existing customers to explore new business needs.
Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by resolving queries and complaints efficiently.
Represent the company in exhibitions, networking events, and meetings.
D. Strategy Execution & Reporting
Support execution of business growth strategies and campaigns.
Track KPIs and report weekly on lead generation, proposals sent, deals closed, and follow-ups.
Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly business review presentations.
E. Documentation & Compliance
Maintain complete records of proposals, contracts, and customer engagements.
Ensure compliance with all internal documentation procedures and approval processes.
Align all engagements with company policies and ethical standards.
Track client feedback and ensure records are integrated into CRM or documentation logs.
F. Cross-functional Collaboration
Coordinate with:
- Marketing team for campaign materials and promotional content.
- Sales team for pricing and product offerings.
- Customer Service team for post-sale follow-ups and satisfaction.
- Finance team for client credit assessments and invoicing follow-up.
Participate in sales and business development planning meetings.
Qualifications & Experience
a) Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
b) Proven experience (2–5 years) in B2B sales, account management, or business development.
Key Competencies
a) Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
b) Strong negotiation and closing skills.
c) Proficiency in CRM software (e.g. Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
d) Goal-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
e) Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
