Job Description

My client is seeking an experienced and proactive Business Development Officer who has a strong understanding of the garment industry, particularly in uniforms and apparel. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving our growth by identifying and securing new business opportunities, building lasting client relationships, and bringing in valuable orders. This role requires someone who knows the industry landscape well and can leverage their network and market insights to expand our client base effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of the garment manufacturing industry, especially in uniforms and apparel.
  • Identify potential clients and business opportunities through market research, industry contacts, and networking.
  • Actively reach out to prospective clients, present our capabilities, and convert leads into confirmed orders.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and offering tailored solutions.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing to close deals that align with company targets.
  • Collaborate with the production team to ensure client requirements are met and delivery expectations are managed.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, competitors, and market needs to identify new avenues for growth.
  • Maintain detailed records of client interactions, leads, and sales activities using CRM tools.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote our services.
  • Prepare reports on business development activities, market insights, and sales progress for management review.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in sales or business development within the garment, textile, or apparel manufacturing industry.
  • Strong network of industry contacts and understanding of client procurement processes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to understand client needs and propose suitable garment solutions.
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and capable of working independently.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, fabric types, and production processes is a plus.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales tracking tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, Marketing, Textiles, or related fields is preferred.
