Background

The Africa Centre for Health Systems and Gender Justice is seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development & Resource Mobilisation Consultant to join their team for a consultancy role covering Africa. This position is crucial for driving the organization's growth and sustainability through strategic business development and effective resource mobilization efforts across the continent. The consultant will play a pivotal role in identifying new opportunities, building partnerships, and securing funding to support the Centre's mission.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the Business Development & Resource Mobilisation Consultant will include:

  • Developing and implementing strategies for business development and resource mobilization across Africa.
  • Identifying and cultivating relationships with potential donors, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Preparing compelling proposals and funding applications.
  • Conducting market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities.
  • Providing strategic advice on business development and resource mobilization to the Centre.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proven experience in business development, fundraising, and resource mobilization, preferably within the non-profit or health sector in Africa.
  • Strong understanding of the African health systems and gender justice landscape.
  • Excellent proposal writing and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • A relevant degree in a related field.

Additional Notes

This is a 12-month consultancy position based in Nairobi, Kenya, with a hybrid work arrangement. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute significantly to the Centre's strategic objectives and financial sustainability.
