Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cost Accountant to analyze, monitor, and report on production costs, including materials, labor, and overhead. This role provides crucial financial insights to improve profitability, enhance operational efficiency, and support management in strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate must be a born-again Christian and able to demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and alignment with the organization’s values.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting

  • Assist in developing and maintaining cost accounting systems.
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entry review and reconciliations.
  • Analyze and report on manufacturing, production, and project costs.
  • Conduct internal cost audits and assist with audit reporting.

Cost Analysis

  • Analyze costs of materials, labor, inventory, and overhead.
  • Perform cost-benefit analyses for new projects.
  • Identify inefficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare reports comparing actual costs to standard costs and analyze variances.

Reporting & Budgeting

  • Prepare detailed cost reports, including production, inventory, and profitability.
  • Analyze profit margins and recommend improvements.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets and forecasts.
  • Identify cost variances and recommend process improvements.

System Maintenance & Auditing

  • Maintain and update cost accounting systems, including standard costs.
  • Perform internal audits to ensure process efficiency.
  • Support month-end close activities, including reconciliations.

Decision Support & Collaboration

  • Provide financial insights for decision-making on cost structures and performance.
  • Recommend process or policy changes to reduce costs and maximize profitability.
  • Train operational and production teams on cost management.
  • Collaborate with other departments to implement effective cost control measures.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Prior experience in cost accounting preferred.
  • Must be a born-again Christian.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial software skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
