Position: Cashier
Industry: Retail / Supermarket

Job Summary:
The Cashier will be responsible for processing customer purchases accurately and efficiently while providing friendly and professional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process customer transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Receive cash, card, mobile money, or other approved payments.
• Issue receipts and provide correct change where applicable.
• Verify prices, discounts, promotions, and product quantities.
• Handle customer enquiries and direct complex issues to the appropriate supervisor.
• Maintain an organized and clean checkout area.
• Balance cash and transaction records at the end of each shift.
• Follow company procedures for handling cash and preventing losses.
• Maintain a professional and courteous attitude toward customers and colleagues.

Requirements:

• KCSE certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Previous cashier or retail experience is an advantage.
• Basic computer/POS skills.
• Good numeracy and attention to detail.
• Honest, reliable, and customer-focused.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
