About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and passionate individual to join our team as Casual Barista within a bustling 5-star hotel environment.
The ideal candidate will bring a love for coffee craftsmanship, exceptional guest service, and a warm personality to enhance the overall experience in a luxury hospitality setting.
Key Responsibilities
Espresso Preparation:
- Expertly prepare a variety of espresso-based beverages, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Utilize knowledge of coffee beans, grind settings, and brewing techniques to create exceptional drinks.
Guest Service:
- Provide friendly and personalized service to guests, taking and fulfilling orders with a focus on exceeding expectations.
- Engage with patrons to create a welcoming and enjoyable coffee experience.
Menu Knowledge:
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of the coffee menu, including specialty drinks and seasonal offerings.
- Educate guests on different coffee beans, flavor profiles, and brewing methods.
Maintaining Cleanliness:
- Keep the coffee preparation area clean and well-organized, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Regularly clean and maintain coffee machines, grinders, and other equipment.
Transaction Management:
- Accurately handle digital and cash transactions, provide change if necessary, and process credit card payments.
- Keep track of sales and manage the register efficiently to ensure no discrepancies are present.
Upselling and Recommendations:
- Suggest additional items, such as pastries or specialty add-ins, to enhance the guest's coffee experience.
- Promote special promotions or featured items to drive sales.
Collaboration with Team:
- Coordinate with other hotel staff, including kitchen and service teams, to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues to maintain a smooth workflow.
Adherence to Brand Standards:
- Follow the hotel's standards for presentation, including uniform appearance and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Represent the hotel with professionalism and enthusiasm.
Requirements
- A minimum of 6 months working experience in a restaurant or hotel with a degree / diploma / certificate in hospitality management OR 2 years working experience in a restaurant or hotel with a non-hospitality management degree/diploma.
- A minimum of 6 months working experience in a specialty coffee shop or hotel with a degree / diploma / certificate in hospitality management OR 2 years working experience in a restaurant or hotel with a non- hospitality management degree/diploma.
- Previous experience in a high-end setting preferred.
- Barista training or certification is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of coffee beans, brewing techniques, and flavor profiles.
- Exceptional communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as per the business needs.
