POSITION SUMMARY

The Chef will be responsible for planning, preparing, & delivering delicious, nutritious, & visually appealing meals for patients, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will have more experience in food production, a strong understanding of dietary requirements, & a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety & hygiene.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan and prepare meals that meet the dietary and nutritional needs of patients, including specialized diets.
• Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
• Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure cost-effective use of ingredients.
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
• Train and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
• Collaborate with dietitians and healthcare professionals to create meal plans that support patient recovery & wellness.
• Ensure meals are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
• Handle special requests and accommodate dietary restrictions as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS: ACADEMIC & PROFESSIONAL

• Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in a hospital, healthcare facility, or large-scale food service environment.
• Strong knowledge of nutrition, dietary requirements, and meal planning.
• Excellent culinary skills and creativity in menu design.
• Familiarity with food safety regulations.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Culinary degree or equivalent certification is preferred.
