Job Summary

The Chef is responsible for preparing high-quality meals in accordance with the restaurant's recipes and standards. The role involves menu preparation, food presentation, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for guests.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation & Production

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved recipes and quality standards.
• Ensure consistency in food taste, presentation, and portion sizes.
• Monitor food quality throughout preparation and service.
• Assist in menu planning and the development of new dishes.

Kitchen Operations

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen.
• Monitor food inventory and report stock requirements.
• Minimize food waste through effective inventory management.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of food products.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Comply with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
• Ensure kitchen equipment is used safely and maintained properly.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate in Food Production, Culinary Arts, or Food & Beverage.
• Valid Food Handler's Certificate is an added advantage.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hotel.
