Background

Braeburn Mombasa International School is also recruiting a Chemistry Teacher who will contribute to the delivery of high-quality science education within the Cambridge curriculum framework. The role requires a dynamic educator with experience teaching advanced Chemistry concepts to secondary school students preparing for international examinations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding learners through both foundational and advanced chemistry topics, fostering critical thinking, and promoting scientific investigation through laboratory-based learning.

Key Responsibilities

The Chemistry Teacher will deliver comprehensive Chemistry lessons aligned with Cambridge IGCSE and A Level curriculum requirements.

The role includes preparing lesson plans that incorporate theoretical explanations, laboratory experiments, and analytical problem-solving exercises.

The teacher will organize and supervise practical laboratory sessions that enable students to apply chemical principles in experimental settings.

Continuous assessment and monitoring of student progress will be required through assignments, laboratory reports, mock examinations, and classroom tests.

The teacher will provide academic guidance and support to students preparing for international examinations while maintaining accurate academic records.

The position requires collaboration with other science educators to ensure consistency in teaching methodologies, curriculum coverage, and departmental planning.

Participation in school academic activities such as science fairs, academic clubs, and enrichment programmes may also form part of the role.

Key Requirements

Bachelor of Science Degree in Education specializing in Chemistry.

Registration with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).

Demonstrated experience teaching both IGCSE and A Level Chemistry.
