Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to achieve business growth,
  • Ensure compliance across all SACCO operations and transactions with the SACCO bylaws, regulatory requirements, and other applicable laws.
  • Oversee the smooth running of operations and attainment of the Sacco’s objectives through effective business plans, policy framework, systems, controls and structures.
  • Ensure the Sacco budgets are prepared in line with resource requirements, monitored, and regular reports submitted to relevant board organs.
  • Maintain effective policies, systems, and controls that enable efficient operations and safeguard the SACCO’s assets.
  • Oversee the implementation of all Sacco’s policies and timely implementation of the board recommendations.
  • Provide leadership to the internal management team and ensuring synergy among all the teams.
  • Provide technical advice and operational feedback to the board of Directors and relevant committees for effective decision making,
  • Develop appropriate organizational structures for optimum utilization of Sacco’s resources.
  • Maintain sound financial management of the Sacco by ensuring production of periodic financial statements,
  • Champion a customer-centric culture that delivers exceptional service and drives high satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Lead strategic initiatives that grow savings, safeguard loan portfolio quality, and strengthen the Sacco’s overall asset base.
  • Ensure prudent stewardship and optimal utilization of all Sacco resources to drive sustainable organizational performance.
  • Lead the development of policies and practices that attract, retain, and motivate high-performing employees.
  • Uphold the SACCO’s integrity and reputation by ensuring transparent communication, responsive service delivery, and professional engagement with members, stakeholders, regulator and the public.
  • Ensure the secure custody and proper governance of the SACCO’s classified documents and official communication in line with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Maintain a proactive public relations and CSR strategy that strengthens the SACCO’s image and community impact.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Cooperative Management, or a related field.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business, Economics, or related discipline.
  • A professional qualification in accounting or finance such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant), ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or an equivalent certification.
  • Must be a member to a relevant professional body
  • At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience with at least 5 years at a senior executive level in a Sacco, financial institution, or cooperative.
  • Sound knowledge of deposit-taking Saccos’ regulations and the regulator’s (SASRA) guidelines on deposit-taking Saccos, AML/CFT and cooperative law.
  • Knowledge of the Sacco business model & other operational issues of the Sacco.
  • Provide leadership in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to achieve business growth,
