Duties and Responsibilities
- Providing strategic and technical leadership in the Technical Services Department to ensure provision of high-quality services to customers.
- Steering the development of departmental policies, procedures and actions plans in line with the Company mission and objectives.
- Overseeing sourcing, production, treatment and distribution of water;
- Overseeing proper treatment and disposal of wastewater;
- Overseeing maintenance of the water infrastructure;
- Coordinating monitoring water levels in all the company’s storage reservoirs on daily basis;
- Overseeing accurate preparation of water production and supply statistics;
- Overseeing preparation of comprehensive departmental reports, procurement plans and budgets, to Managing Director to facilitate decision-making;
- Ensuring that water and sewerage infrastructure is operated and maintained to the required standards;
- Providing technical expertise and advice on the acquisition of contractors and consultants for major works;
- Implementation of the Strategic Plan, work plan and performance targets;
- Optimal utilization and supervision of staff within the Division;
- Providing overall supervision of major works;
- Management of Non-Revenue Water;
- Enhancing research and innovation;
- Overseeing the planning and coordination of quality, maintenance and engineering (capacity works) related issues;
Person Specification
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
- Master’s degree in engineering (Civil/Water) from a recognized Institution.
- Bachelor’s Degree (Civil/Water) from a recognized Institution.
- Twelve (12) years’ cumulative relevant work experience, five (5) of which should have been in a management position.
- Certificate of Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized Institution.
- Must be registered with Engineers Board of Kenya.
- Member of Institute of Engineers Kenya.
- Valid practicing license.
- Certificate in Computer Applications.
