About the role
Our client is a leading organization in Kenya and beyond focusing on financial services specifically, payments. The Chief of Staff (CoS) serves as a strategic and execution partner to the General Manager, working closely with the Executive Leadership Team (Chiefs) to translate strategy into action, strengthen organizational accountability, and ensure effective governance and executive coordination.
The ideal candidate is an all-rounded business leader who understands & drives strategy through equally capable leadership teams and understands books of accounts and drives commercial acumen through chiefs leading their functions.

- Strategy Execution & Organizational Alignment
- Partner with the GM and Chiefs to drive execution of organizational strategy, priorities, and key initiatives.
- Translate strategic decisions into clear execution plans, milestones, and ownership across functions.
- Track progress against agreed objectives, escalating risks and blockers to the GM as required.
- Collaborative work with leadership to break down high-level long-term strategy into specific, actionable Annual Goals and Quarterly Priorities (Rocks) for every department.
- Provide tracking for critical strategic projects to ensure they remain on the “Critical Path” and do not drift in scope or timeline.
- Accountability, Performance & Delivery
- Establish and maintain executive execution rhythms.
- Own the design and facilitation of the corporate operating calendar, ensuring Quarterly Planning sessions are prepared, data-backed, and output-oriented.
- Promote a culture of ownership, follow-through, and results across leadership teams.
- Support performance tracking, issue resolution, and decision discipline at executive level.
- Ensure that initiatives in one department (e.g., Sales) are fully synchronized with support capabilities in others (e.g., Technical, Finance).
- C-Suite Coordination
- Coordinate C-suite engagements, including agenda setting, briefing materials, actions tracking, and follow-ups.
- Act as a central point of coordination between the GM’s office, Executive Leadership Team
- Ensure clarity, timeliness, and quality of executive communications and reporting.
- Prepare & Submit Monthly Board Reports & Weekly C-suite Minutes & Follow up on Action Items.
- Change Management & Transformation Support
- Support the General Manager and Executive Leadership Team in planning, sequencing, and delivering change initiatives.
- Translate change objectives into clear change plans, stakeholder impacts, communications, and adoption actions.
- Monitor change progress, readiness, and adoption risks, escalating issues and recommending corrective actions.
- Act as a connector between strategy, leadership decisions, and frontline execution during periods of change.
- Commercial and Financial
- Strong commercial orientation to achieve strategic commercial objectives across functions ( cost cautiousness and commercial opportunities).
- Drive business acumen among chiefs particularly in driving revenue, strategic decision-making, and Profit and loss ownership, interpretation and actualization.
- Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Resilience and adaptability in fast-paced environments
- High ownership, accountability, and follow-through
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Commerce, Economics or a related field.
- Proven Strategic planning and execution Business performance tracking and management reporting.
- 8+ years’ experience in roles such as Strategy, Business Operations with experience working with C-suite and/or Boards involvement in organization-wide strategic initiatives.
