CIVIL ENGINEER (INTERN) – FOUR (4) POSTS
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma in Civil engineering or its equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
- Be a registered member of IET, KETRB.
- Be computer literate
Duties and Responsibilities
- Planning, designing, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of public infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and public buildings.
- Preparing design plans, blueprints, and technical specifications for civil and road works.
- Conducting feasibility studies and site analyses to assess project viability and suitability.
- Construction and maintenance
- Supervising and controlling all construction works to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Monitoring progress, resolving issues on-site, and ensuring adherence to approved designs and safety protocols.
- Assisting in the maintenance of roads, drainage systems, and other public works.
- Testing materials and commissioning completed infrastructure to ensure it functions correctly and safely.
- Preparing tender documents, cost estimates, and contract documents for civil works.
- Undertaking site measurements and preparing interim and final accounts for work completed.
- Analysing and evaluating claims arising from construction contracts.
- Preparing work plans, reports, and work schedules in liaison with supervisors.
- Supervising junior engineering staff, technicians, and contractors.
- Collaborating with other departments, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure project success.
- Communicating with communities and addressing concerns related to projects.
