About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Claims Underwriting Operations Officer to join our team at Sidian Bank. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of insurance claims and underwriting operations.

Responsibilities

• Process and manage insurance claims from initiation to settlement.
• Review and assess insurance applications for underwriting.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of all claims and underwriting activities.
• Liaise with clients, brokers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information.
• Identify and report any fraudulent claims or suspicious activities.
• Contribute to the improvement of operational processes and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in claims processing and/or underwriting within the insurance industry.
• Strong understanding of insurance principles and practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Academic Background

• Bachelor’s Degree (Preference given to Actuarial, Insurance, Statistics or a Business-Related Course)

Work Experience

• At least 1 years’ experience in insurance claims administration.

• Comprehensive knowledge of general insurance products
• Good planning, organization, and reporting skills with the ability to deliver effectively under strict deadlines
• Ability to understand the impact of operational initiatives from a sales/marketing perspective

• Proficiency in the use of MS Office software application

Professional Certification

• COP (Certificate of Proficiency in Insurance) or progress in Diploma in Insurance ACII or IIK
