JOB PURPOSE:

The individual will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the client’s premises and warehouse. This role is critical to ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, audit standards, and internal quality procedures.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform routine and deep cleaning of warehouse floors, storage racks, and work areas to prevent contamination of products
  • Maintain cleanliness of staff areas, toilets, and offices
  • Ensure proper handling and disposal of waste according to site procedures
  • Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely, in line with Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) and site-specific guidelines
  • Document cleaning activities and maintain records for audits
  • Report any hazards, spillages, or potential compliance risks immediately
  • Assist with audit preparations and inspections, ensuring cleaning logs are accurate and up to date

EDUCATION QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Minimum: Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or equivalent
  • Basic literacy and numeracy (to read instructions, complete logs, and follow safety procedures)
  • Previous industrial or warehouse cleaning experience preferred
  • Knowledge of hygiene standards and regulatory compliance desirable
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures
  • Reliable, punctual, and physically able to perform cleaning duties
